Light, Shadow, and Mystery

In my enjoyment of photography, I look for not just shapes, but light, shadow, colors, and textures as well. For instance, I was eating breakfast one morning and was enchanted by the colors and textures of the light and shadow of this chair in our dining area. We eat at this table every morning, but this morning I especially noticed the light, colors, textures, and shadows of the moment. My eyes kept enjoying the beauty of the morning and was glad I had my iPhone's excellent camera and could take advantage of the moment.

On a deeper level, I can enjoy re-experiencing this moment when I look at this image again and feel the mystery of the beauty of this moment's light, color, texture, and shapes. I tried to put this mystery into words, but truly I think we mostly experience the beauty of the world around us in the deeper parts of our minds and hearts.

Since most of us have a cell phone with a camera, we have a wonderful way to see the world in different and unique ways, and be able to share it with each other.
